Stacking the Shelves is a meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews
Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! Click on the link under the book to find its page on Goodreads or Smashwords.
Please
note that I always leave a
message on your STS/SP if you visit me, but if you use
DISQUS or a similar third party I will not be able to leave a comment on
your page. I don't allow any company access to my social media accounts
and I certainly don't allow them to edit and take over the
way DISQUS does. So
if you use DISQUS, I can't leave comments on your page so I can't follow you back, sorry! (see below why I say NO)

I'm noticing that some blogs set with Google Plus are trying to force you to open a Google Plus or Facebook account before you can leave a comment. Well, I have no interest in rejoining Google Plus or joining Facebook so if your blog uses this set up, I won't be following it or commenting! And sometimes, I have problems leaving messages on blogs hosted by Wordpress-they try to block me so there might not be a message from me some weeks or you might get a double message sometimes! Blame them, not me but I will persevere as it only happens the odd time!

It has been a crazy ten days or so with free books and discounted offers from authors flooding in on newsletters, and I'm drowning in the things! Last week I shared the first nine that came my way and this week I'll be sharing more. I'll be sharing them for a good few weeks to come I think! I'm not quite sure whether to scream in delight or agony for my poor tbr! I never expected to receive all this when I agreed the giveaway authors could contact me! I'm planning to read what they send me and after that decide which authors I'll keep following. I want to give them all a chance to see whose writing I like before I unsubscribe from anybody.
On the reading side of things I'm still zooming along at top speed and have completed 16 books of varying lengths along with the DNFs. As I approach the halfway point of the month only 5 of the 35 books I selected to tackle remain to be done which is great! It means I'll get much more reading done this month than I planned! I'm pleased to have fitted in a bit more reading time while still staying on top of the blogging. The one thing I keep forgetting to do is go back to the blogs I commented on to see if anyone has responded to my comments and asked a question or something, so you guys might see activity on the older posts from this month. I hope to get to that today. I also got five episodes of The Walking Dead watched but I underestimated how many I had left to watch in season three so maybe I'll finish that this weekend which would be good. But the reading is priority!
AUTHOR FREEBIES!
Thank you loads to the authors who provided these books FREE through their newsletters and from provided Amazon offers! Yea!
BOUGHT:
Those books look terrific, enjoy! Sorry about the "drowning" though! Hope this week is less hectic :)
ReplyDeleteI'm trying hard to feel guilty but the freebie excitement does kind of take over...
DeleteI was checking out the freebies you posted about here and Wolves really grabbed my attention but turns out I already got it back in 2014. LOL
ReplyDeleteThat's what my tbr is like...I find things there I don't remember getting!
DeleteLooks like you have a lot of fun new books to try out. I have been getting a ton of author freebie emails this month too. I unsubscribed to a lot of them because I was feeling really overwhelmed and am trying not to get too many more books until I get my current TBR list down. So far my self control has been pretty good, but I'm not sure how long that will last. lol!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, lots of fun here! I won't be continuing with all of them-some seem to be contemporary romance authors which I don't read but I'll have to deal with that maybe next month. Too much to do at the moment downloading what sounds good! Self control? I've heard of that...!
DeleteGreat haul! I sometimes feel a bit overwhelmed by the number of freebies that I come across. I hope you enjoy the books you added. Have fun catching up on The Walking Dead as well.
ReplyDeleteI'll have to get the subscriptions under control after I decide whose books I've enjoyed and want to hear more from. I couldn't go on like this all year!
DeleteIt's hard to turn away a freebie that looks interesting. I have the same problem and I am a much slower reader than you! I hope you enjoy them all.
ReplyDeleteThankfully I'm only grabbing the urban fantasy side of things. If I also liked contemporary and romance I'd be in real trouble! I avoided taking those freebies so I guess that is some form of restraint! I like the sound of a lot of the freebies so far...fingers crossed!
DeleteYou got some great freebies. I'm going to check out that Sarah Dalton series.
ReplyDeleteI've loved the cover of White Hart for years...curious about whether I'll like it but I really like the sound of the Mary Hades books!
DeleteI hope you like your new books! I’ve considered reading George RR Martin’s series, but those books are huge. I’m slightly scared of them.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
They are big aren't they! I had never planned on reading them until I became obsessed with the TV series!
DeleteCool selection of books, as always!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob! There is definitely more of a fantasy slant to the freebies but I had planned to read a few more non urban fantasy books so that worked out well.
DeleteGotta love newsletter freebies! I have a flood of books coming in now from them! My kindle is getting full! LOL!
ReplyDeleteHope you love and enjoy your new book babies!

My Stacking the Shelves
It's fun isn't it! I wish I'd signed up to a few a while back but I'm enjoying it now! It's just a pity they aren't paperbacks so I can enjoy looking at all the shiny covers...
DeleteAwesome haul of books. I hope you love all of your new additions. I love getting freebies.
ReplyDeleteGrace @ Books of Love
I'm enjoying it a bit too much! At least it's exciting opening the email in the morning now!
DeleteYou have added some variety into your mix this week. Cool. Walking Dead just gets better and better in regards to character development. Love that show! And I am going to start reading the graphics novels soon. Btw: although I like some swag I am willing to part with it. Would love to send you my Game of Thrones stuff. If interested email me your snail mail.
ReplyDeleteGood books this week indeed! Who knew that entering a giveaway could bring so much fun! I really hope to get The Walking Dead fully up to date in the next month or so. I've been too lazy with my TV watching...
DeleteWhat an incredible offer! Are you sure? I've sent an email tonight so give me a yell if you don't get it. Big hugs to you!
Lots of new books! Free books are the best. I've not heard of any of them, so I'm going to have perusing them. I hope you enjoy all of your new books!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog! Have a lovely weekend. =)
Alyssa @ The Eater of Books!
It has certainly been fun getting all the free and bargain offers in! Hope you are able to grab some!
DeleteI don't think I'll ever read the Game of Thrones books. Way too intimidating!
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of big books myself! Still if I want to learn more about the characters to feed my current obsession I guess I'll have to get stuck in!
DeleteHope you get to watch more of The Walking Dead. Once you catch up some we can vent/discuss. That looks like a great GoT book. I'm pretty sure I have Chasing Rabbits somewhere on my kindle. Have a great weekend and the pips said to make sure I tell Auntie Chuckles hello!
ReplyDeleteFour more episodes will finish season three so that will be done tonight. The GoT book is GORGEOUS, filled with artwork and stuff with the complete Westeros history. I'm going to have so much fun with that one! *waves* to the furry dudes!
DeleteAre you enjoying the Walking Dead? I'm on season 7 and my god it is brutal! I've started reading the graphic novels too which are fab reads! Hope you didn't have too much snow, I'm sick of it already!!
ReplyDeleteI loved season 2! I'm enjoying season 3 though Rick's madness and Andrea's love life I could do without! A lot of characters I like are gone already! I dread to think if anyone I like will be left by season 7...We don't get much snow here...I think we got about an inch or two maximum then it melted away over two days. I'm fine with that!
DeleteScore on sale and freebies that's a great way to get new to you authors too! Risk free trial ;) I've only heard of the Game of Thrones title, though I do enjoy the show I don't think I'd ever read them though even though I want to know what happens next! Enjoy.
ReplyDeleteThat's exactly the way I see it-a risk free trial! I can't wait to see what happens next in GoT! That's why I started the discussion posts last week...we need something to keep us going until the new series!
DeleteEnjoy your author freebies! I get a lot of those newsletters and Amazon emails too and I am always so tempted by the beautiful covers, but I know that once I start I won't be able to stop.
ReplyDelete~Mogsy @ BiblioSanctum
Self control is very much over-rated! *grins* I was in a panic over the freebies and anthologies but I know the offers will reduce a bit once the first few emails come through and I unsubscribe from those I tried and didn't like etc.
DeleteWow you're humming along! Awesome. I love the cover of White Hart and Chasing Rabbits. and you got World of Ice and Fire. Yay! I still need to get that at some point.
ReplyDeleteHope your reading is going well this weekend! I'm caught up on TWD but I miss having episodes to watch... they're fun to binge. :)
The GoT book is GORGEOUS! I used a voucher sent to me by a friend so I got it for £5...BARGAIN!!! I'm going to seriously love that book. I'm currently reading the prequel short stories and hope to finish it tonight. I like poor dim Dunk!
DeleteSunday binge watches are great! My dad goes to the pub with his brother and I retire to my own bookcave to watch episodes and then read. Perfect!
I know the feeling, all the new books and discounts are great, but they just add to the to-read list as well. I got a few of those as well, I know I got Betrayal's Price and Blood Lust a few weeks ago. I hope you'll enjoy your new books and have a great week!
ReplyDeleteIt is a bit overwhelming! I cheat a bit though...I don't add the new pile to Goodreads where I can see my tbr. I add it gradually to STS which gives me time to work off some damage between uploads! I only put it on GR when I put it on an STS! Officially I have 879 tbr but in reality it's a lot more! If I added them all as I got them I think I'd lose hope!
DeleteLooks like a good haul, and wow you've been doing well with your reading! *cheers you on*
ReplyDeleteThe reading is going really well. I hope to finish my planned reads for the month today so I can select a new pile to read. Exciting! I'm way ahead of schedule this month and I'm going to take advantage of it as you never know when a slump might show up!
DeleteGreat job on all the reading! I'm up-to-date on The Walking Dead books, so I decided to start watching the show - just for shits and giggles. We just finished the last episode of season 3. I like the differences bewtween the books and the show. Except for the zombies. I really hate them. So unrealistic. And the fact I just said that cracks me up. :D
ReplyDeleteI read the first hardback compendium which covers season one and two of the TV series and I liked it. But the second one I found confusing in layout and I didn't like the plot. It would be too expensive to complete anyway so I'll just stick with the series I think! You're exactly where I am with the series now!
DeleteWow, you're doing fantastic with reading this month! I also have some of those freebies you have, Devour looks particularly good. I reviewed Chasing Rabbits last year and it wasn't quite for me, but some of the characters were interesting.
ReplyDeleteChasing Rabbits is a gamble for me as I don't greatly enjoy retellings but I liked the blurb and it was sent free so it'd be rude to say no, right?!
DeleteWow you got some great Freebies!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your books :)
Sugar & Snark - Latest haul
Yes some good freebies there! Thanks for visiting but I regret I cannot leave a message on your blog as you use DISQUS. Sorry! (see above blog post about DISQUS policy)
DeleteWow. You got some freebies I missed! :D Hope you enjoy them all. And glad you picked up Oblivion. Hope you like it. :) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThis is just the tip of the freebie iceberg! Quite a few more freebies and author bargains to come over the next few weeks!
