I can't believe it it Day Eight and Super Saturday. It was a day full of excitement and tension and I was up to almost 4am to watch the athletics and boy was it worth it! Andy Murray is through to the tennis final and guaranteed gold or silver. Yea! There is a big roll of honour today so here we go!
Take a bow Mo Farah, the greatest British distance runner EVER! He won gold in London 2012 and won gold in Rio despite falling earlier in the race. He is just beyond awesome!
The women's team pursuit bring home the gold in track cycling pursuit! Laura Trott becomes the first female British athlete to win three gold medals! Great stuff girls beating the Americans in a world record time!
Silver for the womens rowing eights-first ever Olympic medal in this event!
Jessica Ennis-Hill ran her heart out in the 800m heptathlon but was just pipped into second. She showed real guts and I so wanted her to win but another great silver!
Silver in the womens kieran for gutsy Becky James! Returning from career threatening injury not long ago to get Olympic silver was brilliant! AND as a bonus she beat the Aussie who as usual tried to shove all her competition off the track like she always does.
An excellent swim from the men's swimming medley team. Seriously we have a ton of great swimmers coming through and this silver is great news! Congratulations to the amazing Michael Phelps on his amazing career too.
My heart broke when Greg Rutherford cried on TV at getting bronze. He is an amazing athlete who did great to get bronze after almost not qualifying for the final. He held the Olymic, Commonwealth, World and European titles at one time so this guy has nothing to be ashamed of! Britain should be proud of him!
Whew! We had a great Saturday and are guaranteed a few medals on Day Nine which I'll report on tomorrow. Now I need a big coffee hit after very little sleep last night!
